It's in my blood.
Since I was given my first camera, when I was a little kid, I have always been fascinated by capturing in a shot what my eyes were seeing around me. The beauty of nature or the smile of a friend, an event or an emotion... Precious pearls to be framed in a photo. Whether freezing a movement or moving the stillness, looking at normality through a different angle or portraying the exceptional, I can choose different perspectives, I can catch reality. I think this passion is in my blood, I inherited it from my Grandpa and then from my Dad, and it has always had a great influence in my life. Come and follow me in my journey searching impressions of life.

Ferie delle Messi of San Gimignano

Italy, land of natural beauty, art and historical traditions.

Especially during this time of the year,  many towns throughout the country celebrate historical festivals drawing from rich ancient traditions, often  dating back to the Middle Ages. Such festivals commemorate the way of living of that time and share processions in medieval costumes, re-enact duels and dances, and many times reach the peak in competitions among different fractions of the town (contradas). If probably the most famous of all is the Palio of Siena, other towns in Tuscany have their own events.

Every year, the third week-end of June, the town of San Gimignano, in the Siena province, celebrates the Medieval Harvest Festival or Ferie delle Messi (Ferie Messium), re-enacting a real event that in the thirteenth century the entire population was living as propitiatory recurrence for the harvesting period. Dances, singing and games were arranged for the enjoyment of everyone, but also archery competitions and combats on horseback between champions of the contradas.
