It's in my blood.
Since I was given my first camera, when I was a little kid, I have always been fascinated by capturing in a shot what my eyes were seeing around me. The beauty of nature or the smile of a friend, an event or an emotion... Precious pearls to be framed in a photo. Whether freezing a movement or moving the stillness, looking at normality through a different angle or portraying the exceptional, I can choose different perspectives, I can catch reality. I think this passion is in my blood, I inherited it from my Grandpa and then from my Dad, and it has always had a great influence in my life. Come and follow me in my journey searching impressions of life.

Some Food Photography

During the past Christmas holidays, Denise baked some delicious cookies and I took the opportunity to take some shots.

Baked stuff is a favorite of mine when getting to food photography, and since I had bought a few different kind of breads, I shot those as well. Finally I am posting some of those pictures!

You might notice some have not been color corrected, but I liked the blue dominant and I left it. The first batch of pics has been shot in natural light, using some white reflectors in the front to redirect the back-light from the window. The last ones, on black background, have been shot with artificial light.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

For our Christmas card, this year Denise came up with a gag inspired by my passion for nature photography and she couldn't resist to send me a message at the same time!

Well, hoping you'll all enjoy this card as much as I did, I send you my best wishes for a serene and merry Christmas and a new year full of light to capture wonderful images with your cameras!

Merry Christmas!

As we are approaching the holy night, I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and the best, terrific, wonderful, new year, by sharing with you our 2013 Christmas card.

My renovated passion for photography is certainly becoming more and more demanding, both for the time actually spent taking pictures and the time devoted to sorting, editing and posting them. Especially these days, when I am trying to put together some good shots to enter one prestigious naturalistic photo contest, it is tough to share time with other priorities. And who's suffering the most is my wife Denise, who has to bare this situation when her husband is spending time with that other "girl" named Canon EOS 5D Mark III. So, while again wishing you happy holidays, I would like to thank my wife for her patience and support, and laugh together looking at the great card she created for this year.

Buone feste a tutti!
